This lesson I stumbled upon is brilliant. It is incorporating language arts and combining words to make sentences and learning the color wheel! Perfect elementary level art lesson for earlier on in the year to turning it into a game for those holiday weeks when kids are rambunctious and have half days. It would act as a mid year informal assessment.
