Snowy Glass Candle Holder
Let's make a fun, wintery candle holder! This do it yourself project is a great project using materials around the house (hopefully!) or recycle some materials you can find lying around. Perfect to have up during the holiday season and to leave up through the winter months. Great winter decor.
Materials:
- glass votives
- epsom salt
- fine white glitter
- glue
- foam brush
- OR swap glue and foam brush for spray adhesive
- something to catch the glitter in (an old container lid, piece of paper etc)
We have Epsom salts because they are great for soaking in bathes. I would recommend using glue and a foam brush as adhesive is so super sticky-- I actually ended up spraying it on my rug... yikes! I had two glass votive candles and I cleaned out a candle that was finished.
Step 1: mix up the epsom and just a touch of glitter together in another another container. You don't want to be too sparkly just enough to look like sparkly snow. Add glitter little by little to your liking.
Step 2: take the glue and glue the bottom of the glass. Don't glue the whole thing think of it as an ombre effect. Just glue the bottom half or the bottom quarter of the glass holder.
Step 3: sprinkle the epsom and glitter mixture on your glued votive glass. Make sure you are catching that mixture in something so you can use it throughout this project.
*repeat this for all your candle holders. Allow it to dry over night.
*place a tea light in them and enjoy your new winter snowy candle holders!
